Kavi Sammelan AIOC 2020
A special Sanskrit kavigoṣṭhi titled, “Vādirājayuvakavigoṣṭhi” is being organized during the AIOC’s 51st session.
Kavitagoshthi is a competition where young men and women present their original Sanskrit poems. This event offers young poets an opportunity to showcase their literary talents in the ancient language of Sanskrit. Participants are expected to demonstrate not only the purity of the language but also the depth of emotions and thoughts in their compositions, often drawing inspiration from the Navarasas—the nine emotions that are central to Indian aesthetics: Śṛṅgāra (love), Hāsya (laughter), Karuṇā (compassion), Raudra (anger), Vīra (courage), Bhayānaka (fear), Bībhatsa (disgust), Adbhuta (wonder), and Śānta (peace). The aim of this competition is to cultivate a love and understanding of the Sanskrit language among the younger generation and to keep it vibrant and alive.
Young poets between the age group of 18 and 40 are invited to present their original Sanskrit Kavitas. Scholars will need to submit their original kavitas in advance via the online form to enter the competition.
