Guidelines for Poster Presentation
Welcome to the poster presentation section of the All India Oriental Conference in Udupi. Below are the detailed guidelines to help you prepare and present your poster effectively.
1. Poster Dimensions
- Size: The poster should be 36 inches (width) by 48 inches (height).
- Orientation: Posters should be in portrait orientation.
2. Poster Content
- Title: The title should be at the top of the poster in large, bold font (suggested size: 72 pt). Include the full title of your research or project.
- Authors: List the names of all authors, along with their affiliations. The presenting author’s name should be highlighted..
3. Design Guidelines
- Font Size:
- Title: 72 pt (or larger)
- Section Headers: 36 pt
- Body Text: 24 pt
- Captions: 18-20 pt
- Color Scheme: Use a consistent, professional color scheme. Ensure that there is enough contrast between the text and background for readability.
- Images and Graphics:
- Use high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi).
- Charts and graphs should be clearly labeled with legends and axes.
- Avoid overcrowding the poster with text; use bullet points and visuals to convey information succinctly.
- White Space: Leave adequate white space to avoid clutter and ensure readability.
4. Poster Printing
- Responsibility: Presenters are responsible for printing their own posters.
- Print Quality: Ensure that the poster is printed on high-quality paper with a matte or satin finish to reduce glare.
5. Poster Display
- Setup Time: Posters should be set up by 8:00 AM on the day of the presentation.
- Location: The poster presentation area will be clearly marked at the conference venue.
- Presentation Time: Presenters should be available to discuss their posters during the designated poster session times.
6. Important Notes
- QR Codes: Optional, but encouraged. QR codes can be used to link to additional resources, full papers, or contact information.
- Handouts: Presenters may bring handouts summarizing the poster’s content. These should be placed near the poster for attendees to take.
7. Evaluation Criteria
Posters will be evaluated based on:
- Clarity and organization of content.
- Visual appeal and design.
- Depth and originality of research.
- Presenter’s ability to explain and discuss the poster.
